Case Study – Deloitte
As one of the ‘Big Four’, Deloitte encompasses tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, tax, and related services to select clients.
Deloitte was to embark on a major program to renew their existing LAN infrastructure. BT chose ISG as their deployment partner to complete the work on the Deloitte sites.
Deloitte’s existing LAN infrastructure consisted of over 500 Cisco 3750 switches. ISG was to consolidate and replace the existing switches with 400 Cisco 3850 switches, provided by BT. ISG also needed to migrate the data from the old switches to the new.
To avoid any disruption to Deloitte’s staff and their working environment, the project was required to be completed outside of office hours on evenings and weekends only, over a period of six months.

ISG’s technical services specialists completed the LAN refresh by following a strict set of deployment and testing processes which were designed and documented at pilot phase. ISG engineers needed to keep in contact with the BT/Deloitte service desk, who would be managing the new LAN, to check they had visibility of the new devices.
ISG’s Project Management team manage all activities and coordinate the engineers. ISG provided BT and their client with a weekly highlight report providing progress updates. Standby engineers were on-site on the days following the end user migrations to resolve any issues which may have arisen following the end user migration. ISG also made remote support sessions available to assist the field engineers with any troubleshooting and fault resolution.
Using ISG’s onsite engineering teams to complete the LAN upgrade across Deloitte’s sites ensured a seamless and consistent approach across the UK, enabled all sites to be completed on-time, to budget and provided both Deloitte and BT with an upgraded, future-proofed LAN architecture which is reliable, easy to manage and which will serve their business needs for the foreseeable future.
